Fellowships

Design to EdRupt

“Design to EdRupt was the catalyst that shifted my thinking of leadership and entrepreneurship. I left Explore with greater capacity to fulfill my role as a school leader. I have also developed a stronger drive and tools to launch a program for impact in education. It was truly time well spent!” – Cesserly Rice, Explore Cohort I

Opportunity 180’s Design to EdRupt looks to disrupt the current educational landscape by surfacing and supporting underrepresented PreK-12 future and current education leaders and helping to reimagine the future of learning. During the fellowship, individuals will have the opportunity to explore the idea of designing and launching a new learning environment, such as a school or program.

This fellowship exists in 3 stages:
Explore: This stage will provide fellows with an opportunity to assess and explore their leadership readiness to design and launch a new school or program, develop and pilot a learning environment that is co-created with students and families, and identify multiple pathways (e.g. school or program operating within schools) to launch their idea. Explore involves 15 interactive sessions, one-on-one executive coaching, individualized coaching from our lead team members, and the opportunity to launch your concept at a signature culminating event at the end of the program.

Cultivate: Fellows who are interested in and ready to continue to the Cultivate Stage will continue to “pilot” their ideas and try their hand at launching an idea from scratch, while planning, managing, and executing logistics, operations, and providing team support.

Propel School Launch Fellowship

Propel School Launch fellows incubate in a high performing partner school for one year in preparation to design and launch their own high-quality public charter school. The fellow will also have extensive exposure to leadership roles at their incubation site and the opportunity to observe the school leader’s ability to set a powerful vision for student achievement, motivate others to follow that vision, and execute towards that vision. In this fellowship, the propel fellow will cultivate relationships, learn hands-on how to lead a school through start-up and into a school year, and work with the community.

By participating as a Propel fellow, leaders are matched with supports and experiences designed to help bring their vision to life.

School leaders or aspiring school leaders who have the capacity to incubate at a highly performing school aligned to the leader’s school concept or model
