Selene studied sociology at the Universidad Autonoma de Mexico. She has served in several capacities, including as a high school teacher in Mexico City. Selene moved to Las Vegas, where her passion for education led her to volunteer in various schools. Selene has served with the Springs Preserve, the Las Vegas Police Department, and other educational organizations. In September 2018, she was recognized by the Community and Connect Organization with an Outstanding Service Award for her dedication to the community. Selene is currently involved in several community projects and is active in her church. She knows the importance of serving and is passionate about supporting children and their families. Selene is currently studying Communication and Public Relations at the College of Southern Nevada. She writes occasionally in some hispanic magazines and is a member of the board of the Christian Chamber of Commerce.
As a Hispanic, Selene feels a deep commitment for her community, and firmly believes that education is the key to equity and opportunity for all. Her biggest dream is that every child obtains the best educational opportunities regardless of race, economic status or nationality.
