Clark County School District Board of Trustees
What is the Board of Trustees & what are they responsible for? The CCSD Trustees are decision-makers for the school district. Seven members are elected based on district; four are appointed representatives from the four largest municipalities in Clark County (Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of Henderson, and City of North Las Vegas). They are responsible for providing oversight to the Superintendent and establishing District-wide policy. Trustees are accountable to work with their communities to improve student achievement.

How often does the Board of Trustees meet? Trustees meet twice per month (second and fourth Thursdays) at 5 pm both virtually and at the Edward A. Greer Education Center Board Room (2832 E Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89121).

Can community members engage at Trustee meetings? Decision-making bodies benefit greatly from hearing public input and multiple perspectives. Currently, members of the public can submit comments on agenda and non-agenda items through email or voice recording. Public comment can be provided in person, via email, or via voice recording. Email comments should be submitted to Boardmtgcomments@nv.ccsd.net. To submit a voice recording on items listed on the meeting agenda, call 702-799-1166. Voice recorded public comment is limited to 1 minute 30 seconds.

Trustees Discussed Winter MAP Growth for Students
Highlights of the presentation include:
- Grades 3, 6-8 and 9-12 showed a slight increase in reading proficiency from the Fall results to the Winter results. Slight declines occurred for English Language Learners and students eligible for special education.
- Mathematics proficiencies saw slight increases across almost all student groups, though the middle school level increases were less pronounced.
- In all studies, the most underperforming student groups include African American, American Indian, English Language Learners and Students Eligible for Special Education.
- Trustees requested data showing growth in addition to proficiency levels.

Trustees held a public hearing on and approved the American Indian/Alaska Native policies and procedures, general education programs, and activities. These policies and procedures are reviewed annually.

Trustees Held a Public Hearing on and Approved a New Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between CCSD and the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA) Regarding Recruitment and Retention Incentives (6-0-1)
Trustees approved a new MOA between CCSD and ESEA, regarding provisions of recruitment and retention incentives for school-based education support professionals. The agreement would make eligible certain education support professionals assigned to specific school sites for the 2023-24 school year. The fiscal impact of this MOA is $21.4 million.

Trustees Held a Public Hearing on and Approved a New Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between CCSD and the Clark County Association of School Administrators and Professional-Technical Employees (CCASAPE) Regarding the Reclassification of Elementary School Assistant Principals and an Increase in the Cost-Of-Living Adjustment (7-0)
Trustees approved a new MOA between CCSD and CCASAPE to reclassify elementary school assistant principals from Step 40 to Step 41 on the approved salary schedule, and incorporate a cost-of-living adjustment provided in the second year of the 2023-2025 Negotiated Agreement from two percent (2%) to three percent (3%). The fiscal impact of this MOA is $4 million.

Trustees Held a Public Hearing on and Approved New Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) between CCSD and the Clark County Education Association (CCEA) Regarding an Amended Salary Schedule and Group Health Insurance Contributions (6-1)
Trustees approved a new MOA between CCSD and CCEA to amend the salary schedule and group health insurance contributions. Trustees also approved an additional MOA that corrected errors to the salary schedule in the 2023-2025 negotiated agreement. The fiscal impact of these changes is approximately $524.1 million.
