Educators of Color Alliance
About Educators of Color Alliance:
Educators of Color Alliance is an educational safe space where educators of color have voice, empowerment to be agents of change, and connection to community through instructional and social emotional support.
About the Founder:
Cesserly Rice is currently the Director of School Support & Incubation at Opportunity 180. Over the past eight years, she has been a teacher and served in several leadership capacities including K-8 instructional coach, and charter school principal. She has also worked with a local ARL program to prepare aspiring educators to fill roles as teachers across the Las Vegas Valley. Through this work she noticed her inclination and desire to develop and support educators. She has earned her Master’s degree in Educational Administration and is a current doctoral student to ensure she is continually becoming more well-versed in her field.
More About Design to EdRupt
Opportunity 180’s Design to EdRupt fellowship looks to disrupt the current educational landscape by surfacing and supporting underrepresented PreK-12 future and current education leaders and helping to reimagine the future of learning. During the fellowship, individuals explore the idea of designing and launching a new learning environment, such as a school or program.
The fellowship exists in three stages: Explore, where fellows assess and explore their leadership readiness to design and launch a new school or program; Cultivate, where fellows pilot their ideas; and Prepare to Launch. Their programs and school concepts will ensure more kids have access to innovative, high quality learning environments, and ensuring every kid can graduate from high school college and career-ready, prepared to live the life they dream. Mike is one of our Cultivate Cohort I fellows. For more information, click here.
